Las Vegas Fountains – Mirage and Bellagio

This post is not related specifically to planning Las Vegas vacations, but it’s a reminder of my 2nd to last vacation to Vegas when we stayed at The Mirage hotel.  This is a beautiful hotel and to me it’s in the best location on the strip, right in the middle of some of the best hotels and casinos (TI, Wynn, Venetian, Caesar’s Palace, Harrah’s, Bellagio, Flamingo) with the best clubs, shows, shopping and attractions all within a short walk from your room.  Here’s a video of the Mirage volcano fountain.  It erupts every night from 5 to 11 on the hour.  The fountain has just recently reopened after another renovation, and it looks even better than ever.  It’s especially fun to watch on a cool night, when the heat from the flames feels so nice.

The world famous Bellagio fountain is another breathtaking sight.  The fountain show runs every 30 minutes in the afternoon (3-8) and then every 15 minutes at night (8-12).  It is unbelievable!!  How do they do that with just water and light?  Only in Las Vegas!!  When you go to Vegas you have to see the Fountains of Bellagio, even if you’re staying on the other end of the strip.  It’s worth the short trip to see it.  The Bellagio Hotel is also a beautiful place and the casino is wonderful.

Here’s a satellite photo of the Bellagio Hotel and Fountain. Incredible!

I have been spending some time looking into travel packages for The Mirage and Bellagio and who knows, I might get back there sooner than I think.  I’m currently shopping Travelocity and MGM Mirage Vacations, but decent packages are available at any of the top websites listed here on my site.  I will soon post some reviews and comparisons of the different package websites to show which ones offer the best deals and least hassles.

The Fountains of Bellagio

Here’s another great picture of the Bellagio Fountains.  I think it’s a really cool shot with the silhouettes of the mesmerized people watching the show.  Please let me know if you have any photos or videos of the fountains (or anything cool in Las Vegas) that you would like me to post on my website.  Post a comment or send me an email and I’ll figure out a way to get them uploaded.

Don’t forget about the fountains at Caesar’s Palace. The one in the Forum Shops is a little silly but it’s pretty cool. You should do a whole post on all the fountains in Vegas.

Your site is starting to come along. Keep it up.

Thanks for the comments Chet! I should gather some pics and video of all the other fountains in Vegas. They are SO COOL!

Are you talking about the moving statue fountain at the entrance to Caesar’s Palace from the Forum Shops? This is a good one, and there are always lots of people standing around waiting for it to start. The Forum shops offer a nice walk to Caesar’s, but the whole escalator situation is kind of a hassle.

Thanks again for the comment. Let me know if you have any other favorite fountains.
